Finley's actions
Personal
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 10 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Personal
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Personal
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 2 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Soil and Food
Enjoy a Meatless Meal
Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 1 meatless meals meals each day.
Personal
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 60 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Reduce Light Pollution
Too much artificial light can confuse and harm animals, especially those active at night. I will reduce sources of outdoor light or switch to wildlife-friendly fixtures to support healthy habitats.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Leave the Leaves
Fallen leaves, logs, and brush provide shelter and food for wildlife. I will leave natural features in my yard or community space to help strengthen biodiversity and soil resilience.
What is resilience?
Share a Definition of Resilience
Sharing builds common understanding. I will share 2 definitions of resilience that resonate with me—through conversations, social media, or the event feed—to help others explore what resilience means.
What is resilience?
Share a Resilience Story
Stories connect and inspire us. I will share 2 resilience stories—either from my life, my community, or from a leader or culture I admire—through conversations, social media, or the event feed to help others see resilience in action.

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalWhat did you notice about your thoughts or emotions during or after meditation? How might mindfulness or calmness support your well-being day to day?
Finley Hewitt 4/13/2026 6:27 PMAfter meditating today, I felt very calm. I will say that sometimes I feel stressed after meditating because there are a lot of things going through my head during my 10 minutes of silence. I think mindfulness can support my well-being day to day by decreasing regret. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity and WildlifeWhat lights did you reduce or change, and how might this help wildlife near you?
Finley Hewitt 4/08/2026 8:44 PMAt my house, we don't leave our exterior lights on. I think that leaving exterior lights on could possibly make some animals believe the lights are the moon and confuse them. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity and WildlifeWhat natural features did you leave in place, and what wildlife do you think could benefit from them?
Finley Hewitt 4/08/2026 8:43 PMI never rake the leaves in my yard. Until we started this challenge, I didn't realize I was benefiting wildlife by leaving them. I think leaving leaves probably benefits insects and maybe animals like rabbits or birds that use them for their nests and stuff. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did improving your sleep affect your energy, focus, or mood? What role does rest play in helping you feel more balanced and capable of handling challenges?
Finley Hewitt 4/08/2026 8:39 PMSleep is very important for me. When I don't get enough sleep, I feel like I can't function. I also feel like if I get too much sleep, I don't function at 100%. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did exercising each day impact your physical and mental resilience? What activities helped you feel stronger, more flexible, or more capable of adapting?
Finley Hewitt 4/08/2026 8:38 PMExercising makes me feel productive. I work as a waitress, so I am walking all night. I worked from 3:30 to 9:30 today and got around 10,000 steps. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet? What fruits or vegetables did you try this week, and which was your favorite?
