Krisztina's actions

Land, Water, and Air

Understand My Water Footprint

Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Land, Water, and Air

Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

COMPLETED 18
DAILY ACTIONS

Land, Water, and Air

Reduce Food Waste

Wasting food also wastes water, energy, and resources. I will keep a daily log of food I throw away during the Ecochallenge, either because it went bad before I ate it, I put too much on my plate, or it was scraps from food preparation, and commit to reducing my food waste throughout the challenge.

COMPLETED 18

Today, we celebrated the Earth not just with words, but with actions. We planted 2 trees in our office garden and added tomatoes and strawberries to our terrace garden.
These trees and plants may seem small, but they carry a big message.
They represent our commitment to sustainability, our connection to the planet, and the belief that even the smallest steps matter when it comes to protecting our environment.
For the Earth, these trees are a breath of fresh air — literally.
For us, they are a daily reminder of the impact we can have when we come together with purpose.
Let’s keep planting, growing, and giving back — one tree, one tomato, one strawberry at a time.

Today’s forest walk was more than just a hike—it was a powerful reminder of our deep connection with nature.
As we wandered under trees, listened to birdsong, and felt the earth beneath our feet, something shifted. We weren’t just walking through nature—we were walking with it. Every rustling leaf and distant woodpecker call seemed to speak, gently reminding us that we are part of a much greater ecosystem.
What made this walk even more special was sharing it with children.
Nature teaches us patience, respect, and interdependence. Today, the forest became our classroom.
Let’s keep walking gently on this Earth—and teaching the next generation to do the same
