Wildlife
Plant (or Adopt) a Plant
Landscaping with native plants, gardening, and having plants inside can have benefits for nature and our health. I will plant or adopt a new plant or grow one from seeds and post a photo of it to the feed.
Health and Well-Being
Enjoy the Outdoors for 30 Minutes
Studies have shown that when we spend consistent time in nature, our health improves, our creativity increases, and our connection to the planet gets stronger. Each day of the Ecochallenge, I will spend 30 minutes outside, then share my observations, reflections, and learnings on the feed.
Health and Well-Being
Replace a Product
Small changes can make a big difference for health and sustainability. Using what I learned from auditing ingredients in the products I use, I will replace 1 toxic or harmful products I use with safer, eco-friendly alternatives.
Health and Well-Being
Prepare for Extreme Weather
Extreme weather events like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods can disrupt lives and upend our communities. I will take proactive steps to prepare for extreme weather by safeguarding my home and creating or updating an emergency plan and kit with essential supplies, evacuation routes, and contact information.
Health and Well-Being
Learn About Emergency Preparedness
Being prepared can save lives during extreme weather. I will spend 10 minutes learning about the most common weather risks in my area and the steps I can take to stay safe, such as signing up for local alerts or identifying nearby shelters.
Sustainable Innovation
Share a Sustainable Innovation Discovery!
Innovation thrives when we share ideas. I will share 1 sustainable innovation discoveries on social media or in the Ecochallenge feed to inspire others to explore creative solutions.
Sustainable Innovation
Conduct a Plastics Audit
Reducing plastic use starts with awareness, and there are amazing innovations in materials to replace plastic! I will conduct an audit of the plastic products I use daily and identify items I can replace with sustainable alternatives.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat did you observe or experience while spending time outside, and how did it affect you? How does connecting with nature enhance your physical and mental well-being?
Michael Gordon 4/13/2025 9:56 AMThe best part of spending time outdoors is sharing it with my Grandson. We walked our dog Maizy and listen for all of the birds and we even saw a bunny. -
Michael Gordon 4/09/2025 9:28 PMReflecting on how we can make a difference in our lives through products we use and the effects we can have on the environment through increased recycling efforts and we can reuse vs. disposable -
Michael Gordon 4/08/2025 6:57 AMI joined this Ecochallenge to be more intentional about how my daily choices impact the environment. It’s easy to get caught up in routine without realizing the small things that add up.During this challenge, I’m hoping to learn new, practical ways to live more sustainably—whether that’s reducing waste, conserving energy, or making smarter choices at the grocery store. I’m also looking forward to seeing how small changes can create a bigger impact when we all lean in together. More importantly the impact I can have on my Grandson.
