You'll be an Earth Month Ecochallenge 2025: Conservation expert in no time!
Read through Voya's ESG reports and review environment impacts related to Voya's operational efficiency metrics. www.voya.com/page/operational-efficiency Consider ways in which you could further assist Voya's efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, whether it be through print reduction, travel reduction, or whatever creative way you can imagine.
Environmental and social justice are deeply connected. I will spend 200 minutes learning about how environmental issues affect communities differently (especially communities of color) and explore solutions that promote equity and address both social and environmental challenges.
Read through Voya's Corporate Responsibility reports and review Voya's operational carbon footprint in the 'learn more' link below. Consider ways in which you could reduce Voya's environmental impact in your role, whether it be through print reduction, travel reduction, or any other creative ways to reduce our operational emissions.
Leave No Trace means enjoying nature responsibly by minimizing our impact and leaving the environment as we found it, or better. I will spend 60 minutes learning about the seven core principles to minimize my impact while enjoying the outdoors.
After learning about the Principles of Leave No Trace, I will take at least one action to minimize my impact on the outdoors while enjoying nature. I will post what I tried to the feed to encourage others to do the same!
Our food choices can help protect forests and wildlife. I will spend 60 minutes learning how to choose foods that are grown in ways that protect forests, such as avoiding products linked to deforestation and seeking certified sustainable options like shade-grown coffee or palm oil-free products.
Trees provide food and habitat for local wildlife species, shade our streets and homes, and help keep our air and water clean by capturing pollutants. I will learn about certification labels and buy wood and paper products certified as sustainable or recycled to protect forests and reduce environmental harm.
Wasting food also wastes water, energy, and resources. I will keep a daily log of food I throw away during the Ecochallenge, either because it went bad before I ate it, I put too much on my plate, or it was scraps from food preparation, and commit to reducing my food waste throughout the challenge.
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?
