Wildlife
Learn to Be a Responsible Pet Owner
Being a responsible pet owner means minimizing the impact pets have on wildlife by keeping them indoors, never setting them 'free' into nature, and supervising pets when they are outside to prevent them from hunting or disturbing wild animals. This also keeps our pets safe from harm. I will spend 10 minutes learning about ways to ensure my pet’s behavior and care practices protect local wildlife and their ecosystems.
Community and Connection
Explore the Feed and Connect with Others
I will spend 10 minutes reading the Ecochallenge feed each day and giving high fives or commenting on posts by people who I don't know, but whose content inspires or interests me.
Land, Water, and Air
Learn About Water Justice
Access to clean water is a basic right, yet not everyone has it. I will spend 15 minutes learning about water justice issues and who is affected.
Land, Water, and Air
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Health and Well-Being
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 5 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Wildlife
Learn to Grow Plants Your Way
Growing plants can be rewarding and can create habitats big and small for wildlife. And, we can grow things almost anywhere! I will spend 5 minutes researching options for growing plants either inside or outside.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeWhat actions can you take to ensure your pets do not harm local wildlife? How does being a responsible pet owner contribute to the well-being of both your pets and the environment?
Carson Ferry 4/21/2025 8:45 PMI can put up a fence in my yard or get an invisible fence. I can also train my dog to leave other wildlife animals alone. Being a responible pet owner contributes to the well-being of both my pets and the environment by making sure they don't interact in a negative way. By watching my dog I can give my dog the attention he needs while simultaneously preventing him from attacking another wildlife animal. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeAre you a gardener or house plant lover? Why or why not? What do you need to elevate your plant care skills?
Carson Ferry 4/21/2025 8:42 PM- Exercise Lover 🤸
I like having house plants. I like house plants because they can pull a room together and they are aesthetically pleasing. I need to get plant food to level up the health of my plants and so they can grow stronger. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat did you notice about your thoughts or emotions during or after meditation? Did you find it easy or challenging to meditate?
Carson Ferry 4/21/2025 8:38 PM- Exercise Lover 🤸
After I am done meditating, I feel that my mind is clearer. This is because meditating allows me to reflect on things I find most important. At first meditating was hard because I felt that my mind was all over the place thinking about things, but now that I have done it for a while it has gotten better and I can actually focus on one thought before moving on to the next. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirHow did shortening your showers affect your awareness of water conservation? What other water-saving practices can you adopt in your daily routine?
Carson Ferry 4/01/2025 8:09 PM- Exercise Lover 🤸
I realized that I am taking longer showers than I need to. I can turn off the water when rinsing my mouth after brushing my teeth instead of letting it run while I rinse my mouth.
