Land, Water, and Air
Calculate My Carbon Impact
Knowing our carbon footprint is the first step to reducing it. I will calculate my carbon impact and identify lifestyle changes that could reduce the carbon footprint and impacts on the environment. I will share my commitments to lowering my impact on the feed.
Land, Water, and Air
Save Water When Washing Dishes
Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.
Land, Water, and Air
Join a Cleanup Effort
Working together to clean up public spaces helps the environment and builds community. I will participate in 2 community cleanup efforts in my neighborhood or local area.
Health and Well-Being
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 10 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Community and Connection
Meet My Neighbors
Strong neighborhoods are built on connection and trust. I will introduce myself to 1 neighbors or spend time getting to know people in my community.
Community and Connection
Explore My Area
Discovering what’s nearby fosters a deeper connection to my community. I will explore 3 new places in my area, such as parks, historical sites, or local businesses.
Community and Connection
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.
Health and Well-Being
Prepare for Extreme Weather
Extreme weather events like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods can disrupt lives and upend our communities. I will take proactive steps to prepare for extreme weather by safeguarding my home and creating or updating an emergency plan and kit with essential supplies, evacuation routes, and contact information.
Sustainable Innovation
Donate to or Support Low-Income Solar Initiatives
Clean energy should be accessible to all. I will support, donate, or volunteer to help programs that bring solar energy to low-income communities, helping create a more equitable and sustainable future.
Sustainable Innovation
Choose a Product Made with Sustainable Materials
Every choice matters. I will purchase or switch to products made from sustainable or recycled materials to support innovation and reduce environmental impact.
Health and Well-Being
Replace a Product
Small changes can make a big difference for health and sustainability. Using what I learned from auditing ingredients in the products I use, I will replace 3 toxic or harmful products I use with safer, eco-friendly alternatives.
Wildlife
Learn to be a Responsible Tourist
Being a responsible tourist means not disturbing wildlife and choosing eco-friendly tour operators and destinations that prioritize wildlife conservation and respect animal welfare. I will spend 20 minutes researching ways to travel responsibly to ensure my adventures support, rather than harm, wildlife and their habitats.
Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags do not always end up in landfills and if they aren't properly disposed of. In nature, they can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and harm wildlife. When I go shopping, I will be sure to bring my own bags to reduce waste and the chance that plastic bags could find their way into wildlife habitats.
Wildlife
Learn How to Save the Bees
Bees and other pollinators are vital to ecosystems and agriculture. I will spending 10 minutes learning about local pollinators and why they are so important.
Sustainable Innovation
Learn about the Magic of Seaweed
Seaweed is a powerful ally for the planet. I will spend 20 minutes learning how seaweed can improve ocean health, capture carbon, support sustainable food systems, and inspire eco-friendly products.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeHow do pollinators impact your daily life, and what changes can you make to ensure they continue to thrive?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/30/2025 11:54 PMPollinators like bees and butterflies impact my life by helping grow the fruits, vegetables, and nuts I eat. Without them, our food choices would be limited and way more expensive. To help them thrive, I can plant native flowers, avoid pesticides, and support local farms that use pollinator-friendly practices. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeWhat did you learn about how tourism impacts wildlife, and how can you make more conscious choices when planning a trip? How do you think your travel decisions can contribute to wildlife conservation and respectful interactions with nature?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/30/2025 11:52 PMI learned that tourism can disrupt wildlife habitats and stress animals, especially when people get too close or support attractions that exploit them. I can research eco-certified tours, avoid places that offer direct contact with wild animals, and support conservation-focused places. By choosing travel options that are responsible, I can help protect wildlife, support ethical practices, and make sure that nature is not harmed by tourism. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/30/2025 11:47 PMIt was hard at first because I had to buy reusable bags and I would often forget to bring them or I would leave them in the car. What made it easier was keeping them in a backpack or near the door of my house so I would see them when leaving. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSustainable InnovationEquitable access, environmental justice and creating employment opportunities are just a few advantages of low-income solar programs. What motivated you to support solar energy initiatives for low-income communities, and how do you think it contributes to a more equitable future?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/30/2025 11:32 PMI was motivated to support solar energy initiatives for low-income communities because everyone deserves access to clean, affordable energy no mattter what their income level is. These programs help reduce energy bills, create local jobs, and lessen the environmental struggle that underserved areas usually have. Supporting them makes me feel like we could have a equitable future where sustainability is for everyone to have without having to earn it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSustainable InnovationWhat sustainable product did you purchase, and how does it align with your values?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/30/2025 11:22 PMI bought a reusable water bottle made from recycled stainless steel. It aligns with my values because I’m trying to not use single-use plastics and make choices that are better for the planet. Even though it's a small change I think everyone could do it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSustainable InnovationWhat new insights did you gain about seaweed’s role in combating environmental challenges? Were you surprised how many products you may already be using contain seaweed?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/30/2025 11:20 PMI learned about how seaweed helps against climate change by absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide and reducing ocean acidification. I was surprised to learn that seaweed is used in a lot of everyday products, like toothpaste, ice cream and even cosmetics and bio-packaging. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat did you do to prepare for extreme weather events? Share any tips or resources you found helpful in the feed!
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/28/2025 11:12 PMI put together an emergency kit with essentials like water, non-perishable food, flashlights, and a first aid kit. I also found a website for local weather alerts and am going to create a family communication plan. A resource I used was Ready.gov because it has great checklists and planning tools. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat product did you replace, and why was it important to you? How do you feel about making a small change for a healthier, more sustainable home?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/28/2025 11:08 PMI replaced my plastic food containers with glass ones to reduce my familys exposure to microplastics and to cut down on waste. It felt like a simple but important stop for me to have a healthier, more sustainable home. These changes show me that small changes can have big impacts. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity and ConnectionWhat was the most rewarding part of bringing people together for a gathering? Did you experience any challenges in hosting, and if so, how did you overcome them?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/28/2025 10:27 PMThe most rewarding part of bringing people together was seeing my family relax, smile, and have a good time together. It also felt good to see everyone together in one place. Getting everyone together was hard because everyone in my family has different schedules. But once everyone agreed on a date and time it was good and it was fun. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity and ConnectionWhat new places or experiences did you discover in your local area? How has exploring your community changed your perspective or sense of connection?
Daniela EscobarGuerrero 4/28/2025 10:19 PMI've discovered new restaurants and parks in my area that I had never visited before.
