LEARN ABOUT DONALDSON EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Being prepared can save lives during emergency situations. I will tour my Donaldson facility to identify where the AED/Emergency Kits are located.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Donate to Support Wildlife
There are many amazing projects supporting wildlife and their habitats. I will choose a project or organization to support that helps species and habitats I care about and make a donation.
What is resilience?
Share a Resilience Story
Stories connect and inspire us. I will share 1 resilience stories—either from my life, my community, or from a leader or culture I admire—through conversations, social media, or the event feed to help others see resilience in action.
Community
Join a Group
Belonging to a group can help build friendships and a sense of purpose. I will explore online or in-person groups or clubs that share my interests or goals and join a group to connect with others.
Personal
Reduce Refined Sugar
Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.
Personal
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 120 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Action Track
Participate in a Habitat Restoration Project
Healthy habitats support resilient wildlife populations. I will join 1 restoration efforts, such as planting native plants, cleaning a natural area, or repairing trails to protect biodiversity.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Choose Native Plants
Native plants provide food and shelter for local wildlife and help ecosystems adapt to change. I will choose native plants for my yard, balcony, or community space instead of non-native or ornamental species to support biodiversity resilience.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Speak Up for Wildlife Protection
Wildlife needs support from people. I will take 1 actions, such as volunteering, signing petitions, contacting leaders, or sharing information on social media, to help protect habitats and species.
Community
Attend a Fix-It Clinic in MN
Fix-It Clinics offer free, guided assistance from volunteers with repair skills to disassemble, troubleshoot, and fix small household appliances, clothing, electronics, mobile devices and more. Attend as a repair volunteer or bring something to repair to a Fix-it clinic across Minnesota during April or to one of the permanent Fix-it hubs in the Twin Cities metro.
Community
Swap and Share with Others
Swapping and sharing resources reduces waste and builds community bonds. I will participate in 1 swaps or sharing activities, like borrowing items, attending or hosting a swap meet, or giving away items I no longer need to support a sharing economy with friends, family, colleagues or neighbors.
Community
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.
Community
Offer a Skill or Service
Sharing our talents can benefit those around us. I will offer my skills or services that contribute to local self-sufficiency, such as teaching a repair skill or helping with a neighbor's garden.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Reduce Light Pollution
Too much artificial light can confuse and harm animals, especially those active at night. I will reduce sources of outdoor light or switch to wildlife-friendly fixtures to support healthy habitats.
Action Track
Take Part in a Community Beautification Project
Working together builds resilience and pride in the places we care about. I will participate in 1 community projects such as a cleanup or local beautification project that strengthens connections and shared purpose.
Work and Organizations
Host a Cleanup Event with Colleagues
Shared projects at work strengthen teams and build organizational resilience. I will host or join 1 cleanup events with colleagues, classmates, or group members to improve our environment and strengthen collaboration.
Work and Organizations
Join or Start a Green Team
Green teams strengthen resilience by creating shared responsibility. I will join or help start a green team in my workplace, school, or community group to support sustainability and collaboration.
Work and Organizations
Energy Efficiency in Action at Donaldson
Reducing energy use is the foundation of Donaldson’s decarbonization strategy. I will watch the video on this link to learn about energy efficiency opportunities and examples across our sites and submit a reflection through the reflection form in the Sharepoint link
Work and Organizations
Attend the MS150 Kick-off Event
The MS150 has been part of Minnesota's history of community and resilience to support those in need and Donaldson has been a long-time supporter and participant in the event. I will join the MS150 Kickoff event on Wednesday, April 1 at the 1400 building Experience Center to learn about the event and ways to get involved. There are various opportunities to support Team Donaldson.
Water
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Work and Organizations
Map Local Risks and Resources
Preparedness is part of resilience. I will spend 1 minutes with colleagues identifying potential risks (such as weather, supply chain, or staffing issues) and the resources or strategies available to address them.
What is resilience?
Share a Definition of Resilience
Sharing builds common understanding. I will share 1 definitions of resilience that resonate with me—through conversations, social media, or the event feed—to help others explore what resilience means.
Personal
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 10 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Personal
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 3 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 90 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

I began noticing the amount of plastic waste in daily life and made a conscious decision to reduce my use of single-use plastics as much as possible.
At first, the change felt difficult, but over time I became more aware of the importance of recycling and reducing waste.
This experience showed me that protecting the environment starts with small, consistent actions from everyone.
