Share My Why
Take the Earth Month Ecochallenge Feedback Survey
I will take a short survey about my experience to help the Ecochallenge team improve future events, earn a chance to win a prize, and earn 15 points!
Land, Water, and Air
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Wildlife
Donate to Support Wildlife
There are many amazing projects supporting wildlife and their habitats. I will choose a project or organization to support that helps species and habitats I care about and make a donation.
Wildlife
Learn to be a Responsible Tourist
Being a responsible tourist means not disturbing wildlife and choosing eco-friendly tour operators and destinations that prioritize wildlife conservation and respect animal welfare. I will spend 30 minutes researching ways to travel responsibly to ensure my adventures support, rather than harm, wildlife and their habitats.
Wildlife
Learn the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace
Leave No Trace means enjoying nature responsibly by minimizing our impact and leaving the environment as we found it, or better. I will spend 30 minutes learning about the seven core principles to minimize my impact while enjoying the outdoors.
Land, Water, and Air
Choose Eco-Friendly Wood and Paper Products
Trees provide food and habitat for local wildlife species, shade our streets and homes, and help keep our air and water clean by capturing pollutants. I will learn about certification labels and buy wood and paper products certified as sustainable or recycled to protect forests and reduce environmental harm.
Wildlife
Learn How to Save the Bees
Bees and other pollinators are vital to ecosystems and agriculture. I will spending 60 minutes learning about local pollinators and why they are so important.
Health and Well-Being
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Land, Water, and Air
Attend Recycling & Waste Reduction Lunch & Learn

Health and Well-Being
Declutter and Donate
Decluttering can reduce stress and benefit others. I will declutter my home and donate items I no longer need to support others in my community.
Health and Well-Being
Enjoy the Outdoors for 30 Minutes
Studies have shown that when we spend consistent time in nature, our health improves, our creativity increases, and our connection to the planet gets stronger. Each day of the Ecochallenge, I will spend 30 minutes outside, then share my observations, reflections, and learnings on the feed.
Land, Water, and Air
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Community and Connection
Eating a no meat or vegan diet
My goal is to daily continue to eat a non animal diet. I chose this path because I could not longer eat meat. The mere thought of eating mammals would sicken me and still does.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

elizabeth ehrhart 4/25/2025 1:26 PMFeeling sad about what is happening to our bees. Like some people I had a negative relationship with bees in my childhood that slipped into my adult life until I began to grow things. Now, I love and do things like grow native plants to encourage the health of the bees.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingHow did decluttering and donating items make you feel, both emotionally and physically?
elizabeth ehrhart 4/24/2025 6:15 AMI image to myself that my home is this much lighter for everything that leaves it. -
elizabeth ehrhart 4/23/2025 10:39 AMOne of my personal goals that I have been working on for the polinators is to remove and replace plants/bushes to native ones. Over the weekend I removed a butterfly bush to be replaced by? A local source to get these plants has it's sale time coming up in May. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat motivated you to schedule or attend your check-up, and how did it make you feel afterward that you completed this action?
-
elizabeth ehrhart 4/10/2025 6:16 AMI eat much better since I made the choice to be animal free in my diet. It seemed prior to me changing my diet I ate a lot of junk food. I think I am more satisfied now being vegan and do not crave junk food often. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirHow did shortening your showers affect your awareness of water conservation? What other water-saving practices can you adopt in your daily routine?
elizabeth ehrhart 4/10/2025 6:14 AMBelieve it or not, I shortened my shower a couple of weeks ago by having my hair cut. Now it's in and out.-

elizabeth ehrhart 4/09/2025 8:19 AMThe idea of decluttering one item at a time is great. When faced with a big job I feel frustrated. How about you?
I have started the one item per day and it works for me, stress free.-
Harshal Badhe 4/09/2025 8:27 AMI agree, one area in the house at a time works the best for me on a regular basis. That way, things don't pile up and overwhelm you.
