Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

    Yesterday, I talked to a friend from camp that I hadn't seen in a while, and it was so much fun. I can't wait to see her this summer!

    It's only been 3 days, and I feel like I've made a small impact in my community already. I've made plans this weekend to go around my block and pick up trash with my friend, and I hope it inspires other people in my neighborhood to do the same!

    This challenge is already making a difference in my daily life and changing some of my habits. I've started checking in on my friends and family without even thinking about the challenge, I feel more rested, and I'm learning about waste.

    I usually get about 6-7 hours of sleep, so I started going to bed an hour earlier and waking up later. Now, I get about 8.5 hours, and I feel more energized and ready for the day.

    I ran stairs in track with coach James, and I'm proud of myself for not giving up this time and doing all 10.

    I realized how much water I was wasting when I wasn't actually cleaning any dishes, and reminded the rest of my family to turn off the water as soon as we're done with it.
