Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep

Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 1 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

Enjoy Fruits and Veggies

Adding fruits and vegetables to our meals nourishes our body and the planet. I will prepare and enjoy 2 servings of a variety of colorful fruits and veggies.

Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

Pollinators make a big difference in daily life because they help grow a lot of the foods we eat, like fruits and vegetables. I never really thought about it before, but without them, even things like coffee would be harder to get. To help them thrive, I can plant more flowers that they like, avoid using pesticides, and support farmers who protect pollinators. I can also tell more people about how important they are.

Hi everyone! I'm really glad that we had to join this challenge as a part of our class. It’s helped me build healthier habits—like sleeping better, exercising regularly, and eating more fruits (shoutout to pineapples 🍍).
What surprised me most is how small actions like turning off water while washing dishes or skipping pre-rinsing can add up to make a real impact. It’s empowering to be part of something that encourages both self-growth and sustainability.
How is the challenge going for you all?

I love fruits. I try to eat fruits when I crave chocolates. This helps me stay away/cut down on sugar. Pineapple is my favorite. I wish they always had pineapples in the dining hall at USD!

Currently, I get 8 hours of sleep. However, my sleep cycle a little messed up. I would like to go to bed at the same time every night. I am trying to wake up at 5 am. This gives me a head start to the day because I can exercise right after I wake up and do other things in the afternoon.

Exercising in the morning helped me stay away from screen during the time. The activity I enjoyed the most is pushups because after exercising all these days, I can feel my strength. I couldn't do a single pushup with correct form before I started. Now I can do 6 of them.
