Take the Pre-Survey

Take the Pre-Event Survey

I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Personal

Exercise Daily

Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 20 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

COMPLETED 8
DAILY ACTIONS

Community

Swap and Share with Others

Swapping and sharing resources reduces waste and builds community bonds. I will participate in 3 swaps or sharing activities, like borrowing items, attending or hosting a swap meet, or giving away items I no longer need to support a sharing economy with friends, family, colleagues or neighbors.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Community

Join a Group

Belonging to a group can help build friendships and a sense of purpose. I will explore online or in-person groups or clubs that share my interests or goals and join a group to connect with others.

UNCOMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Work and Organizations

Support Local or Minority-Owned Businesses

Purchasing choices can strengthen community resilience. I will direct 3 of my organization’s purchases or events toward local or minority-owned businesses, helping build diverse and resilient economies.

COMPLETED 3
DAILY ACTIONS

Community

Attend a Local Event

Local events such as farmers' markets, festivals, or community meetings like town halls are great ways to feel part of a community. I will attend 4 community events to connect with others and learn more about my area.

COMPLETED 1
DAILY ACTION

Soil and Food

Grow Something to Eat

Growing food builds resilience by connecting us to the soil and reducing reliance on long supply chains. I will grow edible plants—such as herbs, vegetables, or grains—in my home, balcony, or community space, strengthening both my food security and local biodiversity.

UNCOMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Soil and Food

Learn How to Save Pollinators

Bees and other pollinators are vital to ecosystems and agriculture. I will spend 30 minutes learning how to support local pollinators and take at least one action—such as planting native flowers or avoiding pesticides—to help sustain resilient ecosystems and harvests.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Personal

Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep

Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 30 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

COMPLETED 4
DAILY ACTIONS

What is resilience?

Share a Definition of Resilience

Sharing builds common understanding. I will share 1 definitions of resilience that resonate with me—through conversations, social media, or the event feed—to help others explore what resilience means.

Grit/ resilience is only necessary in toxic environments. In other words, environments aren't built for us to thrive in them as they are, and we are required to exert additional energy to meet the expectations of health, whether that be eco-sustainability or mental wellness. The guilt we feel for not being better at recycling is part of the grit we are expected to endure in a system where giant corporations pollute as part of their business model. We take on the emotional burden and responsibility. A system that doesn't require grit or resilience would be built in a way that sustainability efforts are the norm, are second nature to us.

How did exercising each day impact your physical and mental resilience? What activities helped you feel stronger, more flexible, or more capable of adapting?

The exercise classes I'm enrolled in have been a great way to build up stamina and recover from injury in healthy, safe ways that don't exacerbate those injuries, and I feel more comfortable in my body.
