Water
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Work and Organizations
Join or Start a Green Team
Green teams strengthen resilience by creating shared responsibility. I will join or help start a green team in my workplace, school, or community group to support sustainability and collaboration.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Learn About Indigenous Conservation Practices
Indigenous communities have long stewarded lands, waters, and ecosystems using practices rooted in intergenerational knowledge and deep connections to nature. I will spend 10 minutes learning how Indigenous stewardship supports biodiversity and resilience, and reflect on lessons I can apply.
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 45 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Soil and Food
Choose Water-Smart Foods
The foods we eat carry hidden “water footprints” that affect rivers, soils, and communities worldwide. I will reduce servings of high-water-use foods and choose alternatives that help conserve water and support more resilient food systems.
Personal
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 15 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Water
Learn About Water and Climate Change
Water is one of the most visible ways climate change impacts our lives. I will spend 10 minutes learning how climate change affects water in my region and explore actions that can help people and ecosystems adapt.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat did you discover about how climate change impacts water where you live? How did it change your perspective on resilience?
Sydney Crush 4/14/2026 6:32 AMWhat I found most interesting about the water and climate change relationship is just how quickly one thing leads to another. Something I had never considered before is how rainwater and humidity contribute to the cooling effect in an atmosphere, and therefore in a drought or water-stripped region, atmospheric warning is quickly accelerated. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWork and OrganizationsHow does being part of a green team strengthen collaboration? What role can green teams play in building organizational resilience?
Sydney Crush 4/14/2026 6:15 AM- TEAM CAPTAIN
The Sustainability Champions Team at WBHC has been a great way to get involved and better understand how employees are striving to make change and help the business be more eco-friendly. My favorite part has been learning about our zero-waste-to-landfill programs and interactive events such as lunch and learns for gardening and composting. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat did you learn about your water footprint, and what changes felt most practical or surprising? How does this connect to resilience on a larger scale?
Sydney Crush 4/14/2026 6:13 AM- TEAM CAPTAIN
What was shocking to me was just how much of my water footprint came from eating meat. I try to limit my meat consuming, but even still, the meat I do consume contributes so much more to my water footprint than things such as showering, cleaning, driving, etc. It defiantly makes me more mindful of my daily choices! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalWhat did you notice about your thoughts or emotions during or after meditation? How might mindfulness or calmness support your well-being day to day?
Sydney Crush 4/14/2026 6:10 AM- TEAM CAPTAIN
I think mediation most helps me feel grounded and calm. It lets me slow down and focus on being present. Afterwards, I always feel rejuvenated and capable in moving forward. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did exercising each day impact your physical and mental resilience? What activities helped you feel stronger, more flexible, or more capable of adapting?
Sydney Crush 4/14/2026 6:09 AM- TEAM CAPTAIN
Exercising each day helps me get out of my head and feel connected to my body. I feel strong and more adaptable. On outdoor runs, I feel more connected to the world and I appreciate the nice weather when we have it. Exercising helps me feel part of a human ecosystem. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhat foods did you discover have a large water footprint? How might shifting your diet help conserve both water and soil health?
Sydney Crush 4/14/2026 6:07 AM- TEAM CAPTAIN
I was incredibly surprised by how much water foods like nuts and seeds require! Based on the water footprint assessment, I thought beef, chicken, and pork were going to be on the top of the list. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity and WildlifeHow do Indigenous conservation practices show resilience in action, and what lessons could apply where you live?
Sydney Crush 4/08/2026 9:59 AM- TEAM CAPTAIN
The conservation practices of indigenous communities show a commitment to protecting the earth. I think it shows a harmony with the environment that comes from prioritizing nature. -
