Yvette's actions

Health and Well-Being

Exercise Daily

Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

COMPLETED 8
DAILY ACTIONS

Health and Well-Being

Enjoy Fruits and Veggies

Adding fruits and vegetables to our meals nourishes our body and the planet. I will prepare and enjoy 3 servings of a variety of colorful fruits and veggies.

COMPLETED 5
DAILY ACTIONS

Land, Water, and Air

Understand My Water Footprint

Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

UNCOMPLETED

Health and Well-Being

Declutter and Donate

Decluttering can reduce stress and benefit others. I will declutter my home and donate items I no longer need to support others in my community.

COMPLETED 4
DAILY ACTIONS

Community and Connection

Volunteer at Local Community Food Bank

Volunteer time to put together Food and Vegetable packages for the Community in need.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Health and Well-Being

Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep

Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 120 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

COMPLETED 4
DAILY ACTIONS

Wildlife

Use Reusable Bags

Plastic bags do not always end up in landfills and if they aren't properly disposed of. In nature, they can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and harm wildlife. When I go shopping, I will be sure to bring my own bags to reduce waste and the chance that plastic bags could find their way into wildlife habitats.

COMPLETED 2
DAILY ACTIONS

Community and Connection

Explore My Area

Discovering what’s nearby fosters a deeper connection to my community. I will explore 5 new places in my area, such as parks, historical sites, or local businesses.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Land, Water, and Air

Conduct a Home Energy Audit

Reducing energy use helps protect the air and climate. I will complete an online energy audit of my home, office, or dorm room and identify my next steps for saving energy and reduce pollution.

UNCOMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Wildlife

Learn to Grow Plants Your Way

Growing plants can be rewarding and can create habitats big and small for wildlife. And, we can grow things almost anywhere! I will spend 60 minutes researching options for growing plants either inside or outside.

UNCOMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Wildlife

Learn to be a Responsible Tourist

Being a responsible tourist means not disturbing wildlife and choosing eco-friendly tour operators and destinations that prioritize wildlife conservation and respect animal welfare. I will spend 60 minutes researching ways to travel responsibly to ensure my adventures support, rather than harm, wildlife and their habitats.

This challenge is great to remind us of our footprints and how our decisions effect, everything around us. I have set a schedule for my family for laundry, dishwasher usage, and showers. So many times, as a family with young adults, everyone is on the run, and we use our appliances and water without thinking or planning. A little fore thought goes a long way to conserve and save energy - as well as work to keep our energy cost under control. Love this challenge.

I volunteered at the Food Bank in Concord, CA with a few team members from ARCH. It was a great community event. We were able to network with other with a vision for community service. We shared ideas as we worked to package fruits and vegetables for the community outreach. We processed 3 large bins of oranges. Took some pics to share :-)

Today was a great walking day. Beautiful areas explored. We ran upon some Wild Turkeys in the brush, just roaming around. They are pretty Loud and very large. We just let them be and they roam around the property.

It funny how we are so busy, sometimes we truly forget to stop and smell the roses. Just taking time and slowing down to really take in my surroundings have made a huge difference in my daily life. You notice the hummingbirds, bluejays, flowers blossoming .... beautiful nature.

Wonderful weather for a lunchtime walk. Very nice and mild weather today in Northern California.
