    I chose to donate to the National Parks Foundation because they are a conservator of millions of acres of America's parks. I enjoy volunteering both my money and time to worthy causes such as theirs.

    I always knew that Pacific Salmon were considered essential to many peoples in the area, but I didn't realize just how vital the salmon are in transporting nutrients from the ocean to freshwater streams for other species, such as birds, mammals, and other fish.

    I left clumps of leaves and twigs in the trees (and only cleaned up leaves fallen to the ground) so that birds or other small animals might be able to nest.
