TC's actions
Wildlife
Learn How to Save the Bees
Bees and other pollinators are vital to ecosystems and agriculture. I will spending 10 minutes learning about local pollinators and why they are so important.
Community and Connection
Attend a Local Event
Local events such as farmers' markets, festivals, or community meetings like town halls are great ways to feel part of a community. I will attend 1 community events to connect with others and learn more about my area.
Wildlife
Learn to be a Responsible Tourist
Being a responsible tourist means not disturbing wildlife and choosing eco-friendly tour operators and destinations that prioritize wildlife conservation and respect animal welfare. I will spend 10 minutes researching ways to travel responsibly to ensure my adventures support, rather than harm, wildlife and their habitats.
Wildlife
Try At Least One Principle of Leave No Trace
After learning about the Principles of Leave No Trace, I will take at least one action to minimize my impact on the outdoors while enjoying nature. I will post what I tried to the feed to encourage others to do the same!
Community and Connection
Host a Gathering
Bringing people together helps strengthen bonds. I will organize and host a gathering, such as a potluck, coffee meet up, or shared meal, for friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors to foster connection and community spirit.
Health and Well-Being
Prepare for Extreme Weather
Extreme weather events like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods can disrupt lives and upend our communities. I will take proactive steps to prepare for extreme weather by safeguarding my home and creating or updating an emergency plan and kit with essential supplies, evacuation routes, and contact information.
Land, Water, and Air
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Community and Connection
Learn About the Connection Between Social and Environmental Justice
Environmental and social justice are deeply connected. I will spend 10 minutes learning about how environmental issues affect communities differently (especially communities of color) and explore solutions that promote equity and address both social and environmental challenges.
Land, Water, and Air
Join a Cleanup Effort
Working together to clean up public spaces helps the environment and builds community. I will participate in 1 community cleanup efforts in my neighborhood or local area.
Health and Well-Being
Audit Toxic Products in my Home
Many common products contain harmful chemicals. I will spend 10 minutes researching chemicals found in products I use, and I will make a list of products I'd like to replace with safer options.
Health and Well-Being
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Sustainable Innovation
Learn about Regenerative Agriculture
Healthy soil, healthy planet. I will spend 10 minutes learning about regenerative agriculture and how it helps restore ecosystems, improve soil health, and combat climate change.
Land, Water, and Air
Save Water When Washing Dishes
Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.
Sustainable Innovation
Replace Old Bulbs with LED Bulbs
Energy-efficient lighting is a bright idea. I will replace 4 incandescent light bulbs with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.
Sustainable Innovation
Support Resilient Powergrids
A community can be brought to its knees without dependable power, often affecting the most vulnerable. I will write 2 letters or emails per day to a public official or company to advocate for a more resilient power grid (e.g. microgrids, solar storage).
Empowering the Next Generation
Host a Bio-blitz
A bio-blitz helps youth engage with local biodiversity. I will organize or participate in a bio-blitz with young people to identify and document the plants, animals, and insects in our area.
Empowering the Next Generation
Conduct an Audit with a Young Person
Learning by doing empowers youth. I will conduct an environmental audit — such as a home energy or waste audit — alongside a young person to teach them practical sustainability skills and see what I learn from them as well.
Empowering the Next Generation
Support Youth Climate Activists
Youth activists are leading the charge for a better world. I will spend 10 minutes learning about or supporting youth climate activists through sharing their work or attending their events.

When I went on a hike, I picked up my own as well as any other trash that I found on the trail. Most hikers did as well, and there were still some who left their trash. These people might not have thought of it or had just forgotten to take it with them. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONSustainable InnovationHow did replacing old bulbs with LED bulbs make you feel about reducing your energy consumption? What other small energy-saving actions could you take to reduce your environmental impact?
TC Chung 4/30/2025 9:26 AM- Book Lover 📚
I replaced the 3 light bulbs in the kitchen and the 2 light bulbs in the main hallway. These are the most used lights in my house, therefore, this should make a relatively large impact. Another way to save energy is to turn off the lights you aren't using.-

TC Chung 4/29/2025 6:09 PM- Book Lover 📚
The most unexpected piece of trash was a car tire. It was fun, some of us brought metal detectors and found jewelry that was left in the sand. We also got ice cream afterwards-
