Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep

Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 300 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

I just got back from my walk but got bit by a Rottweiler on the hip. I also held silence for at least 45 minutes today and slept 9 hours. As for the dog bite, I washed it and still deciding what to do.

I didn't go on a walk yet today because I went most days this week so I'm still kind of sore. I spent time with meditation/prayer and reading, and I get plenty of sleep. I actually sleep too much but at least I' getting enough to function throughout the day. But yeah, sometimes I feel like I sleep too much life away.

How did improving your sleep affect your energy, focus, or mood? What role does rest play in helping you feel more balanced and capable of handling challenges?

I am a very long sleeper so I actually sleep too much in my opinion. What happens is I have so much bank sleep from the day before that I get up early the following morning like today. I think it's my sleeping pills that make me sleep too long, but I need them for sleep initiation. I worry about my long sleep patterns as it can cause low mood during the day.

I am the opposite. I don't get enough sleep. I have been to a sleep clinic and I don't suffer from sleep apnea but I do snore and grind my teeth. I am trying to reduce my stress and cortisol levels through meditation but like you, it's causing low mood, as well as brain fog and lack of energy. Good luck on finding a resolution.

I spent time thinking about God when I'm out walking or cooking, I also pray for my family and country.

Given the very bright sunny days this week I have decided to go on daily walks around my neighborhood, and it is very good - getting vitamin D and stretching my legs.

That's awesome! I have found that, after keeping a goal of a 30-minute walk a day, I have talked to more people in my neighborhood, explored more of the community around me, and felt happier knowing that I was doing something for myself. Walking truly is an all-rounder exercise, allowing us to keep our bodies physically active, as well as our minds, based on where we decide to take our next hike.
