This has me thinking a lot about having an emergency kit ready in my house. We've had a few things ready but never anything structured. I think it is a good idea and once we get our set - maybe have a bit more to help someone in need. Watching what is happening with the ice storm up north makes me realize it is needed.

I have an emergency kit, but I've been thinking that the kit really needs to serve more that one type of event (flood, fire, tornado, etc). I always initially thought that flooding would be my primary risk where I live, but as we saw with more recent fires in the US, we probably need to have important documents ready in a go bag also.

Hi Andrea: Funny thing is I believe I have one. The question is where in the world did, I place it. This gives me something positive to do this weekend. Look for it, updated it and place it where I can find it. The Best of Luck to you. Thanks!
