It has been a difficult week to get all my check ins done. I have still been on track, I did skip the gym and opt for a few extra hours of sleep, but I could tell that was what my body needed. I also stopped by the farmers market this weekend and it was great to get the opportunity to buy fresh items.

Skipping the gym for extra sleep isn’t a setback, it’s just you listening to your body. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need more than a workout.

I find taking time for myself, even with rest is so beneficial. Listen to what your body needs as it does so much for us!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    What is resilience?
What story did you share, and how did it feel to share it? Did telling or hearing resilience stories shift how you think about strength and adaptability?

I attended a womens veteran coffee connect and I shared about some of my experiences. One thing that was super interesting is that we had women who served in the military at different times some in the early 70's & 80's and then some as recent as a few years ago. While those who served earlier had to endure things we did not, it showed how resilience can help shape the future for other generations.

I love what you noticed about resilience, it’s kind of like each generation builds on the strength of the one before it. thank you for sharing.

Honest moment: our daughter broke a spigot two nights ago and thought it would shut off on its own. Two days of wasted water later, we’ve shut off the house water and are waiting on a plumber. Lesson learned and a water conservation talk happening tonight 💧

My neighbors forgot that they were filling their back yard swimming pool and went out of town! We noticed it the next day when our back yard started flooding. Nobody answered the phone number I had for them, but I ran around asking other neighbors for help and one of them had a phone number for a family member who knew the code to get into the back yard and turn off the water. I hate to think what their water bill for that was like!

Went to bed early last night because I wanted to get up early to workout. This morning I almost hit snooze but I didn't I got up and did something for me. My 14 year old also joined me, after we got Starbucks in our personal cups on the way to school.

In full transperancy, this weekend was not as good for me when it came to the challenge. I was traveling, I forgot my water bottle at home (I did buy one), I also rented a vehicle and had to eat out more than I would like. However, it is Tuesday - I am back home and back on track!
