Action Track
Host a Cleanup Event with Colleagues
Shared projects at work strengthen teams and build organizational resilience. I will host or join 1 cleanup events with colleagues, classmates, or group members to improve our environment and strengthen collaboration.
Work and Organizations
Reduce Waste in My Organization
Waste reduction supports both ecological and organizational resilience. I will work with others to conduct a waste audit and reduce waste in my organization, such as paper, plastics, or energy use.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Remove Invasive Species
Removing invasive species (species that are not naturally found in my area and can outcompete native plants) can help beautify nature around me and protect local biodiversity. I will learn about invasive plants in my area and, if possible, support or participate in at least one effort to beautify nature near me by removing invasive species.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
What is resilience?
Learn About Community Resilience
Communities can adapt to challenges and grow stronger together. I will spend 15 minutes learning about how communities prepare for and respond to change, and how collective action builds resilience.
Water
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity and WildlifeWhat invasive species did you learn about in your area, and how do they impact native plants and wildlife? If you were able to support or partiicpate in an effort to remove invasive species, what did you do, and how it go?
Sarah Brown 4/06/2026 4:25 AMThere are many invasive vines like Honeysuckle and Oriental Bittersweet that strangle trees. I used a pruner to cut many of the vines and unwrap them from around the tree trunk. Unfortunately, some of the vines are as big as tree trunks and the pruner just won't cut those. Even if I can't get them all, slowing down their growth still helps. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterHow did shortening your showers affect your awareness of water conservation? What other water-saving practices can you adopt in your daily routine?
Sarah Brown 4/06/2026 4:22 AMIn addition to shorter showers, you can also reduce the intensity of the water flow to save water. Lather up with lower flow water and then turn up to rinse off.-
