Enjoy the Outdoors for 30 Minutes

Studies have shown that when we spend consistent time in nature, our health improves, our creativity increases, and our connection to the planet gets stronger. Each day of the Ecochallenge, I will spend 30 minutes outside, then share my observations, reflections, and learnings on the feed.

COMPLETED 16
DAILY ACTIONS

Wildlife

Use Reusable Bags

Plastic bags do not always end up in landfills and if they aren't properly disposed of. In nature, they can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and harm wildlife. When I go shopping, I will be sure to bring my own bags to reduce waste and the chance that plastic bags could find their way into wildlife habitats.

Understand My Water Footprint

Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

Even though I already knew the factors affecting the environment in a bad way, I realized that I was not too careful to change my habits. Being a part of the Eco Challenge, I now really deeply understand how my actions were causing harm to the nature, and I can definitely keep changing & improving my habits for the better.

Out of curiousity, today I asked ChatGPT about how to urge online shopping portals to stop using plastic for packaging....Here are some tips given by GPT:
Sure! Here's a short and punchy version:

**Ways to Reduce Online Shopping Waste:**

    1. **Request Eco-Packaging** – Leave a note at checkout: _“No plastic please, paper or minimal packaging preferred.”_
    2. **Support Sustainable Brands** – Choose sellers using paper/recyclable packaging.
    3. **Club Orders Together** – Reduce multiple shipments = less packaging.
    4. **Reuse or Recycle** – Repurpose boxes and fillers creatively.
    5. **Raise Your Voice** – Email brands or post on social media tagging them: _“Love the product, not the plastic!”_
    6. **Sign Petitions & Campaigns** – Join movements pushing for plastic-free packaging.

    Small actions, big impact 🌍💚

Day 9: Wanted to share something special today <3
I recently traveled to Vietnam for a vacation, and the very first thing I unintentionally noticed was the environment. It was so pure and calm and I could actually breathe in fresh, natural air (something we often take for granted). The lush greenery and the peaceful rhythm of nature felt like a reset button for my soul. Like, every little thing reminded me of how beautifully Earth was designed.
One thing that truly stood out was how keen and prompt the Vietnamese people are in keeping their surroundings clean.
It made me realize how important it is to protect and appreciate our environment, not just in faraway places like this, but also in our daily lives.
Vietnam didn’t just give me memories; it gave me a deeper
    .

Although I love plants, I have never been a plant parent, and I really don't know how to take care of them.
Currenlty, we just have a little aloe vera plant in my apartment's balcony, my mom takes care of it. I think I need more, not for decoration, but I know how beneficial plants can be.
Can anyone suggest some plants that I can easily fit in a small balcony? I will learn about the care routine for my plants online!
