Community
Connect with Someone
Strong communities are built on connection and trust. I will reach out to 1 others—friends, colleagues, or neighbors—to check in, have a meaningful conversation, offer support, or to meet someone new near me.
Community
Support Local Businesses
Supporting local businesses helps keep communities vibrant and resilient. I will choose to shop at 2 local businesses or restaurants, with a focus on businesses owned by people of color, local farmers, or community members.
Personal
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 2 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Personal
Reduce Refined Sugar
Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.
Community
Attend a Local Event
Local events such as farmers' markets, festivals, or community meetings like town halls are great ways to feel part of a community. I will attend 1 community events to connect with others and learn more about my area.
Community
No Food Waste Community
I ran a drive with my RWA recently, where we ensured that no food will be wasted and any left over food will be passed on to people who cannot afford or are homeless. Through this, we saved around 85 pounds of waste not getting into garbage just through our community.

Water
Recycled Water
I have created a small water recycle mechanism with the help of experts this month. The water that goes to drain after showers, is being preserved through a pipe, installed before drain and moves on to water being used for flush. Yes, it is bit yellowish, but who cares since, I was able to save around 40-45 Litres of water a day, just through this.
Soil and Food
Eating HomeGrown Foods
I did grow a few vegetables this month and enjoying them fresh had been a lovely experience
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Care for Sustainability
I actively donated for sustainability through a NGO this month which aims to reduce overall food wastage by collecting it from cafes/banquets and distribute it to homeless. I plan to keep on continuing to donate to this NGO and even join in voluntarily to support their acts as and when I can.
Community
Society CleanUp Drive
Along with young adults in my society, I took up an initiative to reduce the waste and educate everyone about recycling of waste in correct manner. This initiative led to collections of 36k INR which we used to install dustbins for waste segregation and plan some future activities.

Akshay Bhagchandani 4/20/2026 12:25 PMI have recently been traveling alot for work, and have had opportunity to go out for a dinner. I have been selecting vegan options for over a week now, and it feels so good to know that everything on your table is super clean and no one had to go through a harsh death because of being on your plate. One step at a time!-
Mary Hanks 4/20/2026 1:39 PM- TEAM CAPTAIN
Being around my vegan friends has exposed me to dining options I hadn't fully considered before. Now I know I can enjoy my favorite flavors while still being kind to the planet and its occupants.
