Personal

Enjoy Fruits and Veggies

Eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is a simple way to boost our personal health and support a more resilient food system. I will prepare and enjoy 3 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

COMPLETED 1
DAILY ACTION

Water

Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

DAILY ACTIONS

Personal

Exercise Daily

Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 60 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.

COMPLETED 2
DAILY ACTIONS

Water

Understand My Water Footprint

Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Work and Organizations

Reduce Waste in My Organization

Waste reduction supports both ecological and organizational resilience. I will work with others to conduct a waste audit and reduce waste in my organization, such as paper, plastics, or energy use.

COMPLETED 5
DAILY ACTIONS

Community

Attend a Local Event

Local events such as farmers' markets, festivals, or community meetings like town halls are great ways to feel part of a community. I will attend 1 community events to connect with others and learn more about my area.

Propagating plants to bring into the office for my coworkers. I thought this was a great Earth Month idea while helping to improve their indoor office environments naturally and promoting a sharing economy, and sustainable habits in my coworkers, and myself.

Awesome! Sharing economy is the best. Especially when it comes to propagating plants. Every share = a story, a memory, a meaningful relationship. They are a gift that keeps on giving on so many levels.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Work and Organizations
What did you learn from your audit, and what steps did you take to reduce waste? How can reducing waste create both environmental and organizational benefits?

Buying office supplies and items in bulk and ordering office supply items that are not single use for instance not purchasing bottles of water but instead encouraging team members to bring in cups and use the water machine we have.
