Reflection QuestionBasic Needs & Security Get Involved in the Water Justice MovementWho is affected by water insecurity in your region? How are they affected? How are you impacted by water insecurity?
Heather Baker 4/14/2022 11:39 AMThe most shocking thing I have read during this time is how the water at Stateville prison is undrinkable. Prisoners have often complained about the water being brown and undrinkable, but the state has not done anything to fix this issue. Tests have shown extremely elevated levels of copper and lead in their tap water. Even though advised not to drink, they still cook and bath with this water. People often forget that prisoners are people too, and they deserve better than this. -
Heather Baker 4/13/2022 6:58 AMHappy Wednesday everyone! Enjoy the stormy weather today =) -
Reflection QuestionBasic Needs & Security Learn About the Basic Needs & Security SDGsWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Heather Baker 4/12/2022 11:37 AMAll of these items are basic needs for a human to survive-money, food, and water. Without these items, no one would be able to survive in society. These are items that could also be easily improved upon, if not fixed, if we call came together to work on them. -
Reflection QuestionBasic Needs & Security Know Your ProduceWhat surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?
Heather Baker 4/12/2022 11:25 AMI have never heard of these lists before so everything surprised me about them. I often think about my impact on the environment from things I directly do, but I do not stop and think of what my food purchases is doing. Not enough people know about how much you speak with your money. In a capitalistic society like ours, where we put our money speak louder than our words. -
Heather Baker 4/12/2022 10:49 AMHello Everyone! It is supposed to be rainy tonight and tomorrow, so I hope everyone will be able to spend a few moments outside today. The rain is one of my favorite weathers though (aside from a snow storm), so I'll be enjoying nature more tomorrow! -
Heather Baker 4/11/2022 12:35 PMHappy Monday Everyone! Hope everyone has a great week -

Heather Baker 4/07/2022 12:11 PMI am passionate about how corporations and companies can become more ecofriendly. There is only so much that an individual can do when corporations have big impact. I strive to always help in ways I can make where I work more ecofriendly. -
Reflection QuestionBasic Needs & Security Reduce Animal Product ConsumptionWhat was the tastiest meatless or vegan meal you ever had or had recently? Did you make it? Can you share a recipe?
Heather Baker 4/07/2022 12:09 PMMy favorite meatless meal is one from Hello Fresh. It is the Crispy Chickpea Tabbouleh Bowls with Creamy Feta Dressing! it can be easily be made vegan by taking away the dressing. it is also the perfect meal to make ahead of time and meal prep! Very good, highly recommend. -
Reflection QuestionClimate & Ecosystems Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?
Heather Baker 4/07/2022 12:07 PMThere are so many places yet to be discovered even in a place where you spend all of your time. Think about the places and way you do not venture, and take a moment to go there and explore. You never know what you could find, and it helps you find the beauty where you live.
