REFLECTION QUESTION

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & Ecosystems Calculate Your Carbon ImpactWhat is one way you will reduce your carbon footprint? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon footprint?
Joey Ayo 4/14/2023 2:30 AMI was so sure that i will be a climate hero but i'm still a climate consumer. Anyway, One way to reduce your carbon footprint is by minimizing the amount of meat and dairy products you consume. Livestock farming contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, and reducing your consumption of animal products can help lower your carbon footprint. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & Communities Mend ClothingWhat was it like to mend your clothing? If you are skilled at mending, what tips do you have for others?
Joey Ayo 4/12/2023 11:55 PMFor me this mending your clothes is a reflection of the love you felt when you first saw your that clothes/outfit. Aside from helping the environment by reducing the carbon footprint -- this is a good way to bring back to fashion the old you. :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & Communities Analyze Your Utility BillsWhat was the most interesting thing you learned from analyzing your utility bill? What are some ways you can save energy and water?
Joey Ayo 4/10/2023 11:30 PMThe most interesting thing i learned/discover is the consumption of putting TV and other appliances in standby mode and not actually unplugging them. Also, because of having a conscious effort to track utility bill - you learn ways of reducing the consumption like maximizing the capacity of the washing machine - before i use to wash even on mimimum load which i figure waste a lot of soap and water and electricity. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & Security Know Your ProduceWhat surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?
Joey Ayo 4/04/2023 10:15 PMIt surprises me that some that i might think organic may not be - I do advocate buying from the source and since Philippines is an agricultural country there is an opportunity to get to know the produce better.
anyway, i do think this all comes down to 3 things.
Planning, Budgeting and of course prioritizing healthy options.. I can use the list here to plan but budgeting will play a big role on this as well.. not all the time Organic food is expenses but sometimes it is but of course, this will go down on your preference or the choice to be healthy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & Security Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian RecipeWhat was the dish you made, and how did it turn out? What did it feel like to try a new recipe? If you can share a picture, please do!
Joey Ayo 4/04/2023 5:54 PMI tried this very simple recipe - spiced ratatouille with sweet potato.. It was so delicious. I found the recipe here. Since we don't have passata sauce in my kitchen, i use tomato sauce with a little bit of tomato paste. :)

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Equity Practice MindfulnessWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Joey Ayo 4/04/2023 3:16 AMI love practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness help me to become more aware of our thoughts and feelings, and to accept them without judgment. By doing so, we can reduce the stress and anxiety that can arise from negative thoughts and emotions. It is good that i also have peers and bosses who also practice this.
