Autumn's actions
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Action Track
Participate in a Habitat Restoration Project
Healthy habitats support resilient wildlife populations. I will join 1 restoration efforts, such as planting native plants, cleaning a natural area, or repairing trails to protect biodiversity.
Water
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Personal
Reduce Refined Sugar
Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.
Community
Take Part in a Community Beautification Project
Working together builds resilience and pride in the places we care about. I will participate in 1 community projects such as a cleanup or local beautification project that strengthens connections and shared purpose.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Speak Up for Wildlife Protection
Wildlife needs support from people. I will take 3 actions, such as volunteering, signing petitions, contacting leaders, or sharing information on social media, to help protect habitats and species.
Community
Express Gratitude and Random Acts of Kindness
Small acts of kindness and gratitude can brighten someone's day and create a positive ripple effect. I will express gratitude to 1 people or perform 1 random acts of kindness to spread joy and connection.
Community
Connect with Someone
Strong communities are built on connection and trust. I will reach out to 2 others—friends, colleagues, or neighbors—to check in, have a meaningful conversation, offer support, or to meet someone new near me.
What is resilience?
Share a Resilience Story
Stories connect and inspire us. I will share 2 resilience stories—either from my life, my community, or from a leader or culture I admire—through conversations, social media, or the event feed to help others see resilience in action.

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?
Autumn Story 4/30/2026 10:47 PMI definitely was addicted to sugar before starting the challenge. I did fail a few days throughout, but I feel a lot better now, knowing that before I couldn't go 1 day without sugar. I think the hardest part of quitting was cutting out things that don't seem like they'd have added sugars, but do. Mainly with snacks, I had to stop eating all of my snacks I had before and change to other things, so I just chose fruit instead. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow did expressing gratitude or performing acts of kindness impact you and the recipient? What role do small acts of kindness play in creating stronger communities?
Autumn Story 4/29/2026 10:32 PM- Adventurer 🏔
Expressing gratitude has made me feel much more connected to the people around me. For example, just doing one nice thing a day for a random person can boost my mood for the rest of the day. Getting through work days is so much easier when I'm spreading happiness. I think that these small acts of kindness can spread. If someone does something nice towards me, I always feel better and in a talkative mood, and I think it's similar for others. One nice thing leads to many more. -

Autumn Story 4/27/2026 5:20 PM- Adventurer 🏔
I got all my goals done again today! Every time I work, it's really easy to do my community goals since I talk to a lot of people and have regulars that I check in with. I've been trying to remember to do some of my tasks, but especially with cutting down on sugar, I have a hard time. I remembered today, so that's good! -
Autumn Story 4/26/2026 9:43 PM- Adventurer 🏔
Today I met all my goals! I was out working on my grandma's friend's farm, so it was not that hard to meet my goals. I was refurbishing some furniture while there, so I put purpose to some stuff that was going to be burned. I am pretty happy with how things went! -
Autumn Story 4/25/2026 10:25 PM- Adventurer 🏔
I didn't meet any of my goals today. I was really sick and didn't feel like doing anything. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll get more done, especially since I'm supposed to go help out on my grandma's friend's farm again! -
Autumn Story 4/24/2026 8:35 PM- Adventurer 🏔
Today I started to help my boyfriend plant a garden, which I counted as working out for the day. I also think that building a garden is a great connection to the current weekly topic, on food and water! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow did reaching out strengthen your connection with friends, colleagues, or neighbors? In what ways do these personal connections build resilience in your community?
Autumn Story 4/23/2026 8:44 PM- Adventurer 🏔
Reaching out to people made me realize that putting in just a little more effort can strengthen a relationship 10x the amount. After I started taking just a few minutes a day to talk to friends I hadn't spoken to in forever, they also started reaching out more, and we are now talking almost daily. These connections build resilience in my community by creating a circle of trust where we feel as if we can trust each other and talk to each other, and those connections help introduce people, creating mutual friends and more trust. -
Autumn Story 4/22/2026 12:06 AM- Adventurer 🏔
My daily submission is a little late today, but I wanted to say that doing daily acts of kindness has made me feel a lot better about myself in a lot of ways. I think that being nice to others and just spreading happiness to everyone is a great way to improve myself, and reflecting on those acts also makes me happier in life, especially at work. -
Autumn Story 4/20/2026 11:06 PM- Adventurer 🏔
I completed all my tasks today, and I even went over my goals a little. I'm really happy with how this challenge is going so far. I also signed up to volunteer at a food bank with my grandma and cousins soon, so I look forward to that! It'll also go towards a goal I have outside of the ecochallenge to volunteer for all kinds of causes!
