Alex's actions
Wildlife
Log Species to Help Scientists
The more we know about the wildlife around us, the better we can protect species. I will download a wildlife monitoring app and log 2 animal or plant species I discover.
Health and Well-Being
Enjoy the Outdoors for 30 Minutes
Studies have shown that when we spend consistent time in nature, our health improves, our creativity increases, and our connection to the planet gets stronger. Each day of the Ecochallenge, I will spend 30 minutes outside, then share my observations, reflections, and learnings on the feed.
Wildlife
Plant (or Adopt) a Plant
Landscaping with native plants, gardening, and having plants inside can have benefits for nature and our health. I will plant or adopt a new plant or grow one from seeds and post a photo of it to the feed.
Wildlife
Donate to Support Wildlife
There are many amazing projects supporting wildlife and their habitats. I will choose a project or organization to support that helps species and habitats I care about and make a donation.
Health and Well-Being
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Empowering the Next Generation
Host a Bio-blitz
A bio-blitz helps youth engage with local biodiversity. I will organize or participate in a bio-blitz with young people to identify and document the plants, animals, and insects in our area.
Empowering the Next Generation
Listen to Youth
Youth voices matter and deserve to be heard. I will spend 20 minutes actively listening to and learning from young people about concerns, ideas, or experiences about environmental issues, either through conversations, speeches, or media.
Empowering the Next Generation
Read an Environmental Book with a Child
Stories inspire curiosity and care for the world. I will read 1 environmental-themed books with a child to help them learn about nature and sustainability.

Alex Asquino 4/22/2025 12:14 PMGot out after work and was able to do another Herring Survey for Seatuck. The warm weather has the fish moving from saltwater to fresh to breed. I monitor one site and provide feedback to the organization in hopes they can use it for evidence for a future fish ladder at the site. Currently there is no access due to dam. -
