The most unexpected piece of trash I came across during a local cleanup was probably a large, forgotten TV remote buried under a pile of leaves! It was strange how something so random ended up out there, but it was a good reminder of how litter can take on all sorts of forms.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How did collecting rainwater influence your understanding of sustainable water use? What tasks or activities could benefit most from rainwater collection in your household?

Collecting rainwater can really shift your perspective on sustainable water use. It makes you more aware of how precious water is and how much of it goes to waste when it could be repurposed. For example, when you collect rainwater, you realize how much water naturally falls from the sky that could be used for things like irrigation, washing, or even flushing toilets, reducing your reliance on treated tap water.

Exploring your local area can be such an eye-opening experience! For me, discovering new places in my community—like hidden parks, local markets, or small, family-run cafes—has a way of making the place feel more alive. It's not just about finding cool spots; it’s also about seeing the history and stories that these places hold, even if they’re tucked away in plain sight.
