Take Shorter Showers

Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

COMPLETED 16
DAILY ACTIONS

Community and Connection

Check In with a Friend or Colleague

Staying connected strengthens relationships and boosts well-being. Each day, I will reach out to 1 friends or colleagues to check in, have a meaningful conversation, or offer support.

COMPLETED 18
DAILY ACTIONS

Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

I enjoy walking and working out in the gym. I like walking in nature to get some sun and see different colored birds--listen to their various chirps and how they are content. Spending some time stretching after is my most favorite because I feel so relaxed afterwards.

Exercise helps keep me active, reduces stress, and helps me build strength. I shoot for a minimum of 2-3 times a week and do another day or two when I can. Consistency is key to seeing a maintaining results.

I encourage anyone starting on an exercise journey to start off slowly and look for tips for beginners to prevent injury and to keep the motivation to stay on course.

I never run the dishwasher unless it is full. Most of the time I run the dishwasher after 7 pm as recommended for energy conservation. I'm also taking shorter showers, which is helping conserve water. I don't run water while I brush my teeth except at the end. These goals really help me to focus on meeting and exceeding them.

Thanks for sharing Lenora. My electricity is highest where I live between 4 and 9pm so I do the same thing and run my appliances after 9pm in my case. I'm always doing my laundry before bed!

I have a clock in my bathroom. I think about how I can take a shower in 5 minutes and what I need to do to reach this goal. With practice, I can actually shower in less than 5 minutes, which saves more water! I feel good about this goal. Water conservation is definitely needed.
