Land, Water, and Air

Understand My Water Footprint

Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

UNCOMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

What book did you read? What themes or messages from the book resonated with the child you read to, and how did they react?

I reeded the book "Azul e lindo: planeta Terra, nossa casa" by Ruth Rocha and Otávio Roth for my oldest son. This book is perfect for five-year-old children because it uses simple language and colorful illustrations to introduce the idea that our planet is a precious home and that everyone plays an important role in preserving it.

The story takes children on a journey to explore the beauty of nature, showing animals, plants, and scenes that highlight how Earth is full of life. The narrative suggests that through simple actions—such as recycling, saving water, and taking care of plants—everyone can help keep our planet "blue and beautiful."

The book's main message is that Earth is our home, and even small actions can make a difference in environmental preservation. This approach encourages children to develop respect and care for nature from an early age, showing that we are all responsible for the planet’s well-being.
