April 27 at 8:05 PMMy city got back to m about my application for a plot on the community garden, and they said it would take 2-5 years. So I'll be trying to figure out how to grow vegetables in pots for a while. :)

April 27 at 6:24 PMThe weather was so nice today. I went on a long walk and cleaned out my garden beds. I'm getting excited to start planting my vegetables in late May!

April 27 at 5:45 PMI already know everything about what oceans do for us. I learned it through other eco challenges. I did learn about new species, however. Really fascinating creatures of the sea that are quite remarkable. The conversation that is most impactful for me is the fact that marshlands and swamps are extremely important to solving carbon capture. We...

April 27 at 2:32 PMI did my 30 minutes in nature at my favourite place today: Pointe-Claire Village. I call it my "Happy Place". Today, it was a bit chilly because of the wind coming off the water, but it was so lovely staring out at the water and looking at the trees in the park. Many people were sailing on the water too! I'm glad the sun was out to...

April 26 at 6:52 PMToday I saw 2 snails, on the road. I picked them up and placed on the grass, so they don't get squashed by a car.

April 26 at 4:09 PMI've been saving all of the empty glass jars from my food (olive jars, jam jars, etc) and have been using them for chia seed puddings or to store ingredients in my pantry. Much more affordable than buying brand new glass jars!

April 26 at 3:30 PMI spent my 30 minutes in nature on Ile-Bizard, just near the bike trail. They are trying to make it green by planting many trees. One tree was a Rose Neige and another was a Blue Beech. I observed a bluejay for ten minutes and tried to relax, while sitting on the new park benches. It is difficult to get into the zone when you are hearing...

April 26 at 3:24 PMWatched the documentary "Montréal Sauvage" by William Kraushaar today. The school was invited to view it before it is shown through Radio Canada. The footage was so sharp and beautiful. The animals covered were a snapshot of what species can be found on the island of Montreal. The city is a gem for all the biodiversity it holds, but...

April 26 at 3:15 PMHappy Arbour Day! Here is a photo of my favourite tree, right on our campus: the weeping willow.

April 26 at 12:34 PMHad fun this year! I could have taken on some more one-time actions, but maybe I will next year. I enjoyed spending more time outside, listening more for bird song, and keeping an eye out for the first wildflowers of spring.
