I am both humbled and vitalized. There is a lot of work to do but the work is positive and not feeling impossible. The small changes gather, and together make it into a large change.

Art promotes an emotional reaction first and this can be helpful in bringing people in to the dialogue and action.

So far so good! Logging in daily became a challenge. I might have done better with weekly actions instead ;-))))

I noticed that across the group of SDGs there is a rise or increase - undernourished people has risen, extreme poverty has risen (impact of covid) and, 2.3 billion live in water stressed countries.

This group of SDGs really made me think! #7 is directly linked to work my friends and I have done through Habitat for Humanity. We worked in Guatemala to build efficient and safe wood burning stoves for families who had previously been cooking with fire, indoors, without proper ventilation. This led to high numbers of eye infections and lung disease/cancer. #12 left me feeling guilty about my electronic waste - disposing of things responsibly is so critical.

I think I have a habit of unconsciously collecting gum wrappers and they fall out of my  car door so I did 2 things this weekend; took the entire pack out of the car, put in a small trash can from amazon. It's amazing, because then I take it out and sort it in my house.

They all seemed action oriented - with devastating outcomes if we don't work to conserve life below water, make climate adaptation plans, and protect and restore our land. It felt positive to read about the progress made in each area....but there's A LOT more to do!

I'm terrible at wasting water when I wash dishes. I use a lot of soap and a lot of water. Over spring break, while I was in Chile, I realized that I can do better after seeing my 80 year old aunt preserving water (there's a water shortage in Chile) in her dish washing routine.

I don't wash my hair every day - that really helps keep showers short!
