Why do you donate food? How does it connect to your values?

Food is one of the most basic of human needs, so it feels like a building block for other kinds of charitable endeavors. I'm also inspired by the upcoming Slalom focus on donations to the Chicago Food Depository. This is a head start, and I'll donate again next month.

Looking forward to two consecutive days in the office. I'll walk both days. It seems fitting to commute with lower carbon intensity during earth month, and it's also a great mental break before/after the workday.

I organized an Earth Day clean up at Northerly Island. Despite the weather, we had 16 people show up and made good progress in cleaning the park!

Calming and grounding. It really helped me take my 10000 worries and make it all go away for a bit. Which was a nice relief! Sometimes it all gets very overwhelming and this really helped me reset.

Basic Needs & Security Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian Recipe
What was the dish you made, and how did it turn out? What did it feel like to try a new recipe? If you can share a picture, please do!

Well, it wasn't exactly following a recipe, but I did put together a nice vegetarian meal (possibly vegan, but cannot be sure about the sauce). It was more of a "throw the leftovers" into a frying pan kind of thing - noodles, asian greens, fried tofu squares, garlic. It was pan-asian, Chinese enough to satisfy my wife (who's from Taiwan) and still sort of western too. This was actually from last night, and I just polished off the leftovers. ;-)
