Well, I live in Boise Idaho, a high desert. We have a huge lawn, and I just removed about half of it in my backyard to make a space for my backyard chickens! Not xeriscape, per-se, but still better than watering a field of grass :)

In order for people to fully realize their sustainability goals, they must be uninhibited in other ways (i.e., not getting discriminated against). This unlocks the potential of all members of society to contribute, instead of using their brain power to fight for their intrinsic rights to exist.

Less human interaction if we are all staring at our screens all day. I also think there is real benefit being outside with nature. You can feel it improve your wellbeing when you take a walk :)

Surprising to see peppers on the dirty dozen! I've heard about these lists but never used them so I'll keep it in mind next time I buy groceries.

Our lawn is way too big for us and it costs a ton to water. My spouse and I are actively involved in watering it less and pulling it up and starting to xeriscape our property this summer and next. Luckily we don't have an HOA so we can basically do whatever we'd like.
