I challenged my sales team to an Earth month photo contest- and one of them took this picture while he dropped off some household chemicals for recycling....

I did it!!! When I take a bath, I turn off the faucet while I soap up :) and I take shower of 5 minutes.

I watched Seaspiracy, and one of the most important things I learned is that there is no standard definition for sustainable fishing. Also, "farm-raised" fish are not necessarily and better choice than just forgoing seafood in the first place. I'm not sure how this will be reflected in my buying and eating habits, but it has me thinking about it.

I love having nature close to me so we hung up a wren house right off of our back porch about 10 days ago, and we have a couple already building their nest in it. Carolina Wrens also love to build nests close to humans💕 Maybe we will have babies in a month or so!

I watched "Kiss the Ground" and it was interesting to learn that regenerative agriculture and biodiversity on farms can be more profitable than traditional "cash crops" or those grown for livestock feed.

Basic Needs & Security Know Your Produce
What surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?

I buy organic produce selectively- and mostly in line with the clean 15 guidelines- but I also like to buy seasonally available, locally grown produce when I can- reduces the transportation footprint. A good read on the modern food chain is The Omnivore's dilemma.

We have a larger composter outside, but use this to collect our kitchen cuttings thru the week. Composting and recycling greatly reduces our landfill waste. (plus my garden loves the results)
