    I was surprised to see that Western Pa was included in the Great Lakes pollinator region.  My yard is designated as a natural habitat by the NWF, we have a small pond and I see bees drinking water frequently.  Our neighborhood has bee keepers that have several hives in their yard.  May 20 is the first ever World Bee Day!  Love your bees!

    I think that spending too much time inside and away from nature detaches us from the understanding of nature, the world we live in, and the impact we have on it.

    Kudzu vines and knotweed are invasive species in the region. They impact the regional ecosystem by growing so prolifically that other plants are choked out and can't grow.

    It is important to take care of pollinators so that they stay alive and maintain a healthy ecosystem so plants can grow. I love bees and have been building up my perennial pollinator garden for them that includes flowers like lavender, hyssop, coreopsis, cosmos, and roses.
