April 30 at 10:13 AMI hit all my “one time” events save one: “plant a tree” since Bard Arboretum’s event Friday conflicted with the Difference and Justice symposium. I hereby pledge to plant a tree in May! We also picked up a shrub at Red Hook’s Arbor Day event yesterday so that’ll go in today- close! Thanks for a great challenge of a month!

April 30 at 10:10 AMI got some dill weed seeds (at yesterdays earth event) which “produce showy clusters of yellow flowers that will positively buzz with pollinators, large and small. Lacewings, ladybugs, hoverflies, braconid wasps, tachinid flies, and more” and is eaten by swallowtails eastern black swallowtails. I’m excited to see what life happens next. Maybe...

April 29 at 12:49 PMToday was Arbor Day/ Earth day tabling sponsored by Dutchess County and I had four hours of conversation with volunteers doing SDG work throughout the county. From pollinator gardens to repair cafes, to libraries of local to watershed stewards, we are all pointed toward a thriving planet for all

April 28 at 6:55 PMToday two students emptied out cigarette urns on campus. The gloppy smelly mess stained their (gloved) hands and (Tyvek-covered) clothes and made them gag but they stuck with it and even picked up the butts that people had tossed in the ground just next to to urns. I’d say today we saw how smoking impacts others.
