  • Reflection Question
Action Track: Accelerating Solutions Give a Microloan
Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. Why do you think that is?

    Korey White's avatar
    Korey White 4/30/2021 1:21 PM
Great question! I think that women invest more in their families and communities because they have been responsible for families and communities.
  • Reflection Question
Land Sinks Learn about Temperate Forests
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Korey White's avatar
    Korey White 4/30/2021 8:04 AM
There are so many problems and that is quite overwhelming. If we all do a little, we can make a big impact.
  • Reflection Question
    Industry Reduce Single-Use Disposables
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Korey White's avatar
    Korey White 4/30/2021 8:04 AM
I regularly use plastic wrap and need to invest in solutions to eliminate that.
  • Reflection Question
    Industry Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

    Korey White's avatar
    Korey White 4/30/2021 8:02 AM
I need to reduce and repurpose more than anything. It will make me feel more aware.
  • Reflection Question
Industry Find a Local Climate-Friendly Supermarket
How close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?

    Korey White's avatar
    Korey White 4/30/2021 8:01 AM
It is not that close, which I am surprised. I signed a petition to get a supermarket closer that phases out HFC refrigerants

Can't believe it is the last day! Come on Chicago!
  • Reflection Question
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. How would you rather use this money?

    Korey White's avatar
    Korey White 4/30/2021 7:52 AM
Traveling or contributing to organizations that help others with food insecurity!
  • Reflection Question
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Korey White's avatar
    Korey White 4/30/2021 7:52 AM
We have more access to it and more ability to raise animals, which are expensive. Animals contribute more to CO2 levels and thus are a burden on the planet.
  • Reflection Question
Transportation Go for a Daily Walk
What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

    Korey White's avatar
    Korey White 4/30/2021 7:51 AM
it is nice to be outdoors and disconnected from computers.
  • Reflection Question
