So happy to take part in Ecochallenge again this year! It's always over way too quick and before we know it! I can't wait to take everything I've learned with me until our next Ecochallenge, where I'll get to learn even more!

Economy & Communities Carry My Trash
What one thing will you do right away to reduce your waste? What is the second thing you will do?

The amount of waste I carry on me daily makes me want to get into ecobricking, because I didn't realize how much the little things really added up to a lot of trash. I should also be more dedicated to recycling, terracycling, and properly disposing of all waste. I think something a little bigger and harder I will make a conscious effort is to make more meals at home so I don't depend on disposable snack packs so much. Also, I should save all my food waste for composting in the science building.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health & Equity Make Cleaning Products
What was surprising about the ingredients in your cleaning supplies, personal care, and pet products?

The most surprising thing to me was how easily these ingredients could be replaced in most instances or cleaning situations. Vinegar works magic majority of the time, and it is a much more affordable and sustainable ingredient to use in terms of cleaning, whereas cleaning products produce more waste both through production and commercial use.

I love when I can commit to at least one of my daily practices; sometimes our busy schedules make it so hard to stay consistent and even remember. However, I have been practicing mindfulness everyday and I really like how the addition has affected me and my life. I feel much more calm and present.
