  • Reflection Question
Health & Equity Learn About The Health & Equity SDGs
What was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?

If bribery is 5 times more likely in low income countries than in high income countries, I feel like the U.S. must fall into that low income country category. Bribery runs things, especially in our government where lobbyists legally buy politicians every day.
  • Reflection Question
Climate & Ecosystems Learn About Invasive Species
What is one invasive species in your region and how does it impact your region's ecosystem?

While stinkbugs have no known adverse affects on the ecosystem, they are massive pests. I had no idea they were not native to the region and considered an invasive species. Cats, I did know about although I didn't know their origin. Feral cats and "outdoor" cats have destroyed something like 60 species of native bird populations.
  • Reflection Question
Climate & Ecosystems Support Local Pollinators
Why is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?

Pollinators aid our food supply and the health of the ecosystems that clean the air and help wildlife. I didn't realize that butterflies, beetles, birds and flies are all considered pollinators. Bumble bees and butterflies are my favorites.

Climate & Ecosystems Reduce Single-Use Plastics
What plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?

I actually don't use a lot of single use plastic. Today, I had soup for lunch. The container was plastic which just makes me wish that there were more recycling options here at work. Had I been at home, I would have rinsed it, cut the label off and placed it with my recycling.

Hi, my name is Chrissy. I'm always looking for ways to help our environment and just generally use more sustainable products and reduce waste. Challenges are a great place to get started.
