Jenny Rowlett 4/15/2022 3:32 PMToday, I accidently left my phone in my friend's car. I am now going on a trip phoneless. This somewhat stressful but funny situation is making me realize how dependent I am on my phone. While I do this one/two-day no phone trip, I challenge you all to go a day without your phone or another electronic device. I hope that not having my phone will allow me to engage in meaningful conversations with my extended family. I hope that it might allow you to be more present and perhaps spend some time doing something you wouldn't otherwise do. Maybe you'll spend more time with your friends, do a puzzle, or go on a walk with all the time you aren't spending on your phone! -
Reflection QuestionBasic Needs & Security Get To Know Your WatershedWhat watershed do you live in presently? What is something interesting or unique about your watershed?
Jenny Rowlett 4/12/2022 2:26 PMOberlin is in the Black River watershed. It was interesting to learn that the Black River used to be very contaminated; it was nicknamed the "river of fish tumors." However, there has been a lot of restoration work over the past few years. I'm interested to look more at the USGS data for the Black River watershed when I have more time. My notes so far: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MeAJUj5ZNDi_DixA1z6ZfcUYFHWuAl9f9KUfW7PDMRQ/edit . Feel free to add to the doc if you live in Oberlin.-
Courtney Horner 4/13/2022 1:20 PMThis is amazing! Would you be able to share the google doc so we can open and edit it?
