The Asian Long-horned beetle causes damage to the trunk of trees by chewing out large cavities, laying their larvae and causing large amount of sap to run out of the tree.  The trees require removal and is causing devastation to our forest areas including trees in our neighborhoods. It was first discovered attacking ornamental trees in New York and Chicago.
  • Reflection Question

Pollinators are important to crops and some crops are 90% dependent on pollinators like apples.  It's important for us to plant pollinating plants to help bees and butterflies.
