Andrea's actions
Economy & Communities
Create A Readiness Plan
SDG 9
Each day, I will spend time developing a readiness plan for my household in the event of an emergency.
Education & Livelihood
Host a composting educational event
My town has a gardening/outdoors lecture series. I volunteered to lead a composting educational event for the community. Educating the community is completely new to me! I wanted to try it and see how I could make a difference!
Basic Needs & Security
Advocate For Your Watershed
SDG 6
I will call my elected officials to ask about what they are doing regarding water issues in my region.
Basic Needs & Security
Take 5-Minute Or Less Showers
SDG 6
I will save up to 6 gallons (23 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers. Tip: Use a timer to practice or count to 60 a few times.
Basic Needs & Security
Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian Recipe
I will try a new vegan or vegetarian recipe and share how it turns out on the Ecochallenge feed, or with family and friends.
Health & Equity
Track My Purchases
SDG 10
Each day, I will track my purchases to identify my spending habits. This will allow me to see what purchases can be reduced.
Economy & Communities
Online Energy Audit
SDG 7
I will complete an online energy audit of my home, office, or dorm room and identify my next steps for saving energy.
Climate & Ecosystems
Plant a Tree
SDG 15
On average, a tree absorbs 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of carbon dioxide yearly during the first 20 years. To do my part, I will plant 5 trees in my community, public parks, or backyard.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & Communities Online Energy AuditWhat most interested or surprised you about your energy audit?
Andrea Pallotta 4/14/2023 5:44 AMI found it very interesting to see that our house was using slightly more energy than my neighbors! I bought a voltage meter to start tracking my appliances! I started line drying more of my clothes and turning off and unplugging appliances/chargers when not in use! I did this through the First Energy Website. Since doing the audit, I decreased our energy usage to below our neighbors!! -
Andrea Pallotta 4/14/2023 5:05 AMWe are half way through our Challenge Pharmacy Team! Keep tracking your points and sharing what you've learned throughout the month! I am offering a bar of homemade soap for the team member with this highest point score at the end of the months!! Keep logging!!
