I am new to the Clinic and part of a program that is being newly built. So constructive conversations are happening every day. There are so many resources on our intranet about having positive, constructive conversations, which I really appreciate.  Just with so many other things in life, taking a moment and being mindful about what you are hearing and the perspective of the person you are talking to can be so beneficial.

With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

I did more research on water filtration options for my home, and settled on a Brita pitcher with a long last.  Did you know that they have a long-last filter now that lasts six months instead of 2, and they are partnered with Terracycle to recycle used filters?  It was great to read about!

It is astonishing to think that 2 million people in the US are facing water insecurity!  Clean water is something that we take for granted.  I always knew clean water access was an issue in certain regions of the country as described in one of the links- rural areas particularly.  I hadn't considered how many people locally (in a densely populated area) face similar access issues because of economic factors and water shut offs.  With the greater Cleveland poverty rate being over 30% (according to one source I read), that must impact so many local people!

I need to start filtering my water!  My city's zip code does not rate very well.  I will try a Brita!

Brita is a great idea! The company does a good job of being green with a large amount of their electricity being renewable and the are working on creating a smaller carbon footprint. The only downside is that I don't believe the filters are recyclable. So they still have ways to improve.
