The Cool Climate Calculator available in this action is cool;).  It allows you to make pledges to improve and then shows you how much you can reduce your impact with those changes.  Fun to play with to see what makes the most difference.  I also used it for a client presentation.  Win Win.

This CBS News special with Walter Cronkite from Earth Day 1970 is both fascinating and really depressing.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HUtM_LTyIw

I really wish eating meat used less water -> seeing how much this adds to my water footprint does help change my behavior.  Also, pet food?  I haven't seen this on a calculator before - how can I affect that usage ->  Labradors do not skip a meal:)

Watershed 1 = Bitterroot Valley -> historic irrigation system management allows for diverse agriculture / not sure how long this will last
Watershed 2 = Moulton Reservoir and Big Hole Valley -> I listened to an interesting podcast about how the ranchers and conservationists have come together in the Big Hole Valley (where 40% of our city water originates) to voluntarily reduce water use to protect the only Arctic Greyling population in the lower 48 to avoid the regulatory requirements which would be established if it was placed on the endangered species list.

The podcast was Shared State (Montana NPR and Montana Free Press - non-profit news org).  This season's episodes explore the political divide in Montana and where there might be opportunities for common views.  Super interesting.

That's so interesting about Moulton Reservoir and Big Hole Valley! What was the podcast? I'd love to start listening to some new podcasts on my ride into the office in the morning!

easy - finding common interests; hard - patience with what I perceive as ignorance
