Filter water bottles are becoming popular. Water is the source to keep us going. There are places in the world where it's difficult to obtain or find water. We should be mindful of how much water waste we use on a daily. From letting the water run when brushing our teeth, washing clothes in the washer or cooking with water.

At work, I removed my trash and recycle bin from my work desk to force myself to get up and throw away my waste in the proper bin. This has forced me to take micro breaks, reduce clutter and in general makes me happy to know I am reducing a plastic bag going into the trash! Small steps to making a difference!

Having asthma, I have been looking for filters for the house. I am looking to renovate our upstairs living space to be more inviting and plant filled. It's a bit complicated as the upstairs room does not have a lot of light. Shade plants work well but when the house gets cold they welt. I will have to find tough plants place around. So far desert plants are on the list! I hope to get this project done before the end of April!

I have asthma to, I use a Hepa filter in my room and living room. (Germ Guardian ” 3-in-1 True HEPA Filter Air Purifier) from Amazon.
Plants are a great addition also, my wife have some Peace Lily. According to NASA’s analysis of houseplants, the Peace Lily did the best job at removing airborne Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) “If man is to move into closed environments, on Earth or in space, he must take along nature’s life support system Plants". -NASA

A lot major tech companies such as Intel, Lam Research, Samsung are finding ways to be a Sustainable company by 2050. They are teaming up with each other and finding ways in their factory to see how they can reduce using water, electricity and how they impact to the environment.

It's taken a little over a year! But my mother in law has been very open to learning about recycling plastics. She will read the number on the label and does her best to reduce waste in the landfill. If you didn't know not all plastic are recyclable. What plastics are recyclable? See image below!  Only 1, 2 and 5 are acceptable. Other numbers are rarely accepted which means they go into the trash.
I highly recommend checking with your waste company to see what plastics they are willing to take.

Unwanted drugs may be dropped at police and sheriff station offices. There are even Metro hazardous waste facilities and collection events in your own community to dispose of pharmaceuticals drugs.

Lam worksite has a campus clean up today. To continue to help clean it up. Building awareness on sustainability and get as many people to part take in it gives a good insight to reducing waste onsite.
