SDG 14, 15

Each day, I will spend 5 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood (e.g., park, water body, nearby trail, community garden, green space, etc.).

COMPLETED 13
DAILY ACTIONS

Climate & Ecosystems

Drive Less

SDG 13

To reduce CO2 emissions each day, I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.

COMPLETED 13

Climate & Ecosystems

Collect Litter on a Plog / Plalk

SDG 15

Each day, I will go on a plog or plalk for 20 minutes and collect 10 items of litter.

COMPLETED 14
DAILY ACTIONS

Health & Equity

Spend Time Outside

SDG 3

I will replace 120 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, or practicing gratitude for nature.

COMPLETED 29
DAILY ACTIONS

Basic Needs & Security

Know Your Produce

SDG 2

I will become a savvy produce shopper when buying organic and non-organic items.

SDG 3, 10

I will find out what food programs are in my area and donate food and/or other items that they request.

COMPLETED

Economy & Communities

Mend Clothing

SDG 9

I will mend clothing for myself, family or friends.

COMPLETED

It's been a cold, drizzly day so not outside as much as usual but we still took our daily walk. One of the ways to save miles instead of driving is to combine trips and walk to the store instead of driving.

It's been fun to discover some new areas around us - I've been picking a different path to walk each day
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Climate & Ecosystems Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?

I have found a couple of small parks nearby that I had never explored before and have expanded the areas I walk with my dog. It is a great way to meet new neighbors and see new areas.

I have changed many of our spending habits and media usage habits. I also volunteered and interacted with multiple people and helped teach them about healthier and earth friendly habits.
