Niki's actions
Climate & Ecosystems
Garden Creation
I will expand my raised bed to create additional space to grow my own vegetables. If the weather allows, I will begin planting.
Basic Needs & Security
Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian Recipe
I will try a new vegan or vegetarian recipe and share how it turns out on the Ecochallenge feed, or with family and friends.
Basic Needs & Security
Know Your Produce
SDG 2
I will become a savvy produce shopper when buying organic and non-organic items.
Health & Equity
Spend Time Outside
SDG 3
I will replace 5 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, or practicing gratitude for nature.
Climate & Ecosystems
Explore My Area
SDG 14, 15
Each day, I will spend 5 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood (e.g., park, water body, nearby trail, community garden, green space, etc.).
Climate & Ecosystems
Collect Litter on a Plog / Plalk
SDG 15
Each day, I will go on a plog or plalk for 5 minutes and collect 5 items of litter.
Climate & Ecosystems
Support Local Pollinators
SDG 15
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will plant pollinator-friendly plants in my area to support local pollinators.
Education & Livelihood
Share Your Eco Habits
SDG 11
Through my Earth Month Ecochallenge feed, I will share with others an environmentally friendly habit I have cultivated.
Education & Livelihood
Work-Life Balance
SDG 8
During the workday, I will schedule time for daily breaks during work days to practice work-life balance.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Niki Hosafros 4/28/2023 9:23 AMIt's still too cold to plant, BUT I did expand my raised garden by reusing dirt and some wood from a poorly placed raised bed that I made in 2020. (It never got enough sun due to my neighbor's tree) I added an extra 7' of length bringing it to 13' long by 4' wide!-
Amber Acord 4/28/2023 9:29 AMAwesome! I am filling in some dirt this weekend in my front garden! I can't wait to start outdoor planting! Home grown veggies just taste better

Niki Hosafros 4/02/2023 8:50 AMNot Vegan, but Spinach Casserole with cheese! I left out the bacon :)
I used while wheat flour and I feel like maybe I didn't cook it long enough to remove the flavor but otherwise, it's delicious!-
