    I'd never heard of biomass technology before this challenge. Biomass contains stored chemical energy from the sun. Plants produce biomass through photosynthesis. Biomass can be burned directly for heat or converted to renewable liquid and gaseous fuels through various processes.

    Human activity has transformed a significant fraction of the planet’s land, especially for growing food and harvesting forests. Land is the common ground of shelter, sustenance, feed for animals, fiber, timber, and some sources of energy, as well as the direct source of livelihood for billions of people.

    I use straws, sandwich bags, and coffee cups.  Instead I use reusable straws, ceramic coffee mugs and plastic containers to store food.

    People in richer countries eat meat due to their higher gross domestic income. Eating meating contributes to diseases like heart disease and stroke.

    Shortening showers, minimizing fauce drip, double dipping dishes when washing, and using a high efficiency dishwashers are all ways to reduce water use in your home.

    City planning and design relate to equity by ensuring that all members of the community, regardless of their address, enjoy the same amenities.  This helps climate change by ensuring cleaner neighborhoods throughout the community.

    Walking has been very enjoyable. I am interacting more with neighbors and meeting new people in my community.  This is an experience I don't get to enjoy while driving.

    This challenge has been a great learning experiment.  I also love that it fostered friendly competition and engagement among our group.  I learned a lot that I plan to continue doing going forward.  Sorry to see it come to a close.

    The things I think I will carry with me going forward beyond this challenge are reducing waste through no waste meals, eating from smaller plates, one meal a day with no meat, and enjoying a meal with no distractions.  These are new habits that can easily be maintained and will help me live a better life while helping preserve the planet.
