Try a new plant-based food or beverage

... something you haven't tried before. What about a cappuccino with oat milk, for example? Did you know?: A 2018 study by Oxford University shows that a glass of cow’s milk has at least three times more emissions than any alternative milk. A liter of cow milk requires 1,050 liters of water to produce. This is a wild amount of resources. In terms of greenhouse gases, a 200 milliliter glass of cow’s milk creates around 0.6 kilograms of carbon dioxide.

  • Reflection Question
Basic Needs & Security Try a new plant-based food or beverage
Did you like the product you tested? Could you imagine eating/drinking it more regularly?

ompletely skipped cow milk some time ago. Now gradually moving from soy milk to oat, almond and other alternatives. Instead of meat, I nowadays often replace it with various plant based variants - started again with Rügenwalder, Tofu from Denn's and increasingly relying on like meat (like chicken and like grilled chicken) or simply mushrooms (in x variants).

What was something you learned from your friends during Earth Month?

The magic lies - as so often - in consistency. So, making Earth Month and all the good ideas there to Earth life, sticking to only 1-3 (ofc the more the better), will make a huge difference (I might move from the 5 minute showers to more vegan meals though - much easier for me).
  • Reflection Question
Basic Needs & Security Make Zero-Waste Meals
How did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?

Smoothies are the key to me. While apples with seeds and all may not be the most tasty (broccoli same), the blender helps reducing waste massively.
  • Reflection Question
    Education & Livelihood Work-Life Balance
How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

Sometimes stepping back and breathing helps - not only for a better balance but also for a better perspective on things. Like it a lot.
  • Reflection Question
Basic Needs & Security Take 5-Minute Or Less Showers
With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

5 minute cold showers would probably be best - but hard :/
