Regardless of definitions and beliefs, food sustainability is about generating food at a productivity level that is enough to maintain the human population. Sustainable food production is fundamentally grounded on the availability of fertile land, water, nutrients, and an adequate climate.

Loving going to the grocery store and seeing people with their reusable bags.  I have almost 95% of the time in shopping trips have used recycled bags.  Other times I have used paper bags and I reuse them until they can’t be used.  After that they are recycled at the dump.
  • Reflection Question

Why is it important to honor native and indigenous peoples and cultures? What have you learned that is important to you? If you identify with or are a member of an indigenous group, how does your community practice sustainability?

Not only can it give you a greater appreciation of the different people who have contributed to the history of a region, but it can also help stop the loss of these cultures. Learning about and celebrating Indigenous culture is one way to foster and encourage cultural pride.
